Chip Rohrbach (EHS Class of ’86), believed in the importance of theater, both as a student and as an adult. He grew up performing in shows, and became a well-loved and respected theatre artist in the Lehigh Valley.
The Chip Rohrbach Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a graduating senior who has been involved in EHS Theatre, has positively engaged with school faculty and staff, and who has exhibited generosity of spirit toward their fellow castmates during their time at Emmaus.
This year, the Chip Rohrbach Memorial Scholarship was presented to Anna Smith.
Anna has worked as a member of the production team for many theatrical productions throughout her high school career. She has always shown initiative as a member of the crew, and thrives in leadership roles. Last year, she excelled in the role of Production Assistant. This year, she served in the leadership role of Production Manager. She worked closely with Jill Kuebler, Director, as well as with the Stage Manager to plan, prepare, and execute all aspects of the production process. Anna is integral to the success of EHS shows on many levels. She works together with members of the cast and crew to ensure that the technical aspects of the show run smoothly and interface well with the performance elements. Mrs. Kuebler placed Anna in a leadership role because of her maturity, her organizational skills and ability to multitask, her collaborative nature, and her high degree of self-motivation. She has been vital to the success of all productions with which she has been involved.
Anna’s dedication to the art of theater production is evident in her commitment to the process, as well as the high caliber of the work she produces. She is productive, reliable, willing to learn, responsible, and creative. Her artistic vision, her maturity, her organizational skills and ability to multitask, her high degree of motivation, and her collaborative nature are qualities that will serve her well as she navigates her future endeavors. Anna Smith has consistently positively engaged with school faculty and staff, and has exhibited generosity of spirit toward her fellow castmates during their time at Emmaus. Anna will be continuing her education at Georgia Tech in the fall of 2025.
We congratulate Anna on her award and can’t wait to see what’s next for her. Chip would be proud!
